Today I am going to review the highly anticipated Marvel superhero movie "Black Panther." Will this movie live up to the hype? We are about to find out! Before I get started, I'd like to give a shoutout to the Free Gamer's Alliance YouTube channel. Their videos cover everything from walkthroughs, glitches, easter eggs, and various amusing video game related content, all of which is delivered with some colorful commentary while they have buckets of fun doing it. Before we get started, here is the trailer:
- As is pretty much always the case with Marvel films, the visual effects are fantastic. This one in particular looks rather stunning as the setting is absolutely beautiful.
- The cast is incredible. Everyone brings their a-game. The major standouts are Chadwick Boseman who does an excellent job leading this film and Letitia Wright who manages to steal pretty much every scene she is in.
- The action scenes are (for the most part) really well done.
- The pacing of this movie is incredible. It does not feel nearly as long as it actually is.
- This movie takes certain expectations that the audience has and turns them right on their head which I absolutely love.
- The movie's villain is one of the more complex ones that Marvel has ever had. While he may be the villain, the audience sees where he is coming from which makes it all the more compelling.
- Finally the film has some really great messages for audiences that will also make them think which is something not typical for superhero movies.
- There is one action scene near the beginning of the movie that is so chaotic that it feels like it belongs in a "Transformers" movie. Fortunately, the rest of the action scenes in the movie are great but the first one is a bit jarring.
"Black Panther" is without a doubt one of Marvel's strongest efforts to date and easily one of the best superhero movies I have ever seen. It does everything to keep the audience engaged and delivers in just about every way. I can't recommend this movie enough. Go see it in theaters as soon as possible and treat yourself to this magnificent movie!
