Today, I will be reviewing "It: Chapter 2" which is the much anticipated sequel to the 2017 hit "It." Before I get started, I'd like to give a shoutout to the Free Gamer's Alliance YouTube channel. Their videos cover everything from walkthroughs, glitches, easter eggs, and various amusing video game related content, all of which is delivered with some colorful commentary while they have buckets of fun doing it. It is time to review "It: Chapter 2." Here is the trailer:
- The cast is fantastic. Everyone playing the adult version of the characters really does a great hob of playing them with authenticity. I always believe that they are the same characters who have gone through 27 years of various life experiences. Jessica Chastian, Bill Hader, and Bill Skarsgard stand out.
- There are some great creepy moments throughout.
- Visually this movie is stunning.
- There are many great moments of comic relief.
- Lastly, the movie dives deeper into the past of the characters and it really helps the audience get to know them even better.
- The way the story gets resolved feels a little bit silly.
- The biggest issue with this movie by far is the pacing. There are a lot of scenes that drag on longer than they should. There are quite a few things that could have been cut down especially around the end.
While "It: Chapter 2" may not live up to the greatness of the original movie but it does have a great cast and lots of character development. I recommend seeing this as long as you have the patience to sit through nearly 3 hours of this.
